Christmas Table settings

The Provencal Christmas party table.
The big Christmas dinner table would be covered with three tablecloths, lighted by three candlesticks (symbolizing the Trinity) and all the dishes were to be presented together at the beginning of the meal (dessert included).

After dining, we do not rid the table when the guests are gone. The plate of the poor is filled and the 4 corners of the 3 layers of tablecloths are raised on the table, so that the entire meal is eaten by the returned deceased of the family during the Christmas night. Thus, the ancestors could come to eat bread as the living.
